Melissa explains Summer Fun
Guy: I'm speaking with Melissa Joan Hart. You may know her a little
bit better as Sabrina, the Teenage Witch, and she's here to talk
about summer fun. How ya doin' Melissa?
MJH: I'm doin' good this morning.
Guy: Well, what exactly is on your slate for this upcoming summer?
MJH: Well, um, I'm doing the Coca Cola Summer Fun Program, which is
basically, um, about Coke helping kids have fun this summer,
because they say 60% of teens work and they don't save enough
money to have fun. So Coke is, uh, hi--- Coke has the Real Deal
brochure and the Coca Cola Card.
Guy: I--I've seen the commercials, it looks like this card can get you
a lot of great stuff out there.
MJH: Yeah, um, you can basically get it at a lot of different local
places -- video stores, movie theaters -- and you can call your
local Coca Cola bottler and it can get you discounts on places to
eat, shopping. And then there's the Real Deal brochure which has
tips on, uh, making money, spending money and, uh, just nice
facts about, different--different money facts and different
things about Coke.
Guy: Do you have an 800 number or inf--- or, place where we can get
information?
MJH: Yeah, there's a 1-800 number, um, 1-800-388-3887.
Guy: Okay, so, while you're not out drinking Coca Cola or shopping
what's it like being a teenage witch on TV?
MJH: It's great! We have a great time doing the show and we're--we're
set to do it through the year 2000.
Guy: Do you find many people, uh, come up to you on the street, they
know who you are?
MJH: Yeah, it's uh, it's kind of weird sometimes, but it's, uh, it's
got its upside. (laugh)
Guy: Did you ever expect the show to be so successful?
MJH: Well, my mother and I, um, are producers on it and we thought
that it would do pretty well, we had some pretty high
expectations for it and it's lived up to them.
Guy: And what's up next for--for you? A---Are you pursuing other
adventures, as well?
MJH: Yes, I'll be doing a, there's a Sabrina TV movie we're gonna be
shooting in Rome this summer. And I'll be doing an independent,
um, feature at the end of the summer called 'Running With
Scissors' right before I go back to work.
Guy: Melissa Joan Hart, thanks for your time.
MJH: Thanks.
